LA CROSSE, Wis. – Wisconsin pro Matthew Stefan emerged victorious at Mercury Stop 6 on the Mississippi River after a day of high drama on the water. Like several other anglers locking down from Pool 7, Stefan was delayed by barge traffic and made it back to the weigh-in with no time to spare.
The Junction City angler stayed consistent throughout this final event of the Tackle Warehouse Invitationals season and stacked up 15 pounds, 8 ounces on Day 3 for a tournament-total of 48-6. For his effort, Stefan earned the trophy, a check worth $80,000 and an invitation to REDCREST 2024.
Even though he didn’t advance to Day 3, Ron Nelson‘s excellent year was enough to hold off a charging Michael Neal, and he was confirmed as Angler of the Year. Marshall Robinson, son of Bass Pro Tour angler Marty Robinson, also had a stellar year and he is your Polaris Rookie of the Year!
