EverStart anglers head out onto Lake Ontario under beautiful skies, kick off start of second Northern Division tourney of 2001
CLAYTON, N.Y. – Approximately 330 anglers representing 29 states took off from the safe haven of French Creek Marina shortly after 5:30 a.m. to signal the start of the $185,000 EverStart competition on Lake Ontario. With a gorgeous sunrise and nearly perfect weather conditions acting as a backdrop for today’s competition, anglers geared up for the second tournament of the year in the newly formed Northern Division circuit.
With a top prize of $15,000 and a new Ranger boat awaiting the winner of the Pro Division and $6,000 earmarked for the co-angler champion, competition should be intense throughout the four-day event. For the next two days, anglers will battle to qualify for the top-30 cut, which will officially take place after Thursday’s results are finalized. After Friday’s competition, both divisions will be whittled down to the top 10. On Saturday afternoon, at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Watertown, N.Y., both division champions will be crowned.
Today’s weigh-in is scheduled to take place at 2:30 p.m. at the French Creek Marina located at 250 Wahl Street in Clayton, N.Y.
