After being disappointed with his performance at Stage Four on Lake Chickamauga, Jonathon VanDam came into the General Tire Stage Five Presented by Berkley with an anger that he channeled into success. VanDam caught 94 pounds, 4 ounces during his first Qualifying Day on the St. Lawrence River. During Group A’s Qualifying Day 2, VanDam put more pounds on SCORETRACKER® than any of the other MLF pros on the water: 77-15.
VanDam finished the Qualifying Round in fifth place, which means he’ll compete in the Knockout Round on Tuesday. All weights will be zeroed for the 38 pros who qualify for the Knockout Round and the Top 8 will advance to the Championship Round (two pros automatically advance to the Championship Round by winning the Group A/Group B Qualifying Round).
