Lake Breakdown: Matt Lee Sees Opportunity on Mille Lacs

September 12, 2022 • Bass Pro Tour

ONAMIA, Minn. – The final event of the 2022 Bass Pro Tour season is underway and Matt Lee expects big things from the “Okeechobee of Minnesota.” So far, Mille Lacs has delivered 4- and 5-pounders to the majority of anglers competing at Bally Bet Stage Seven Presented by Minn Kota, and Lee says there are endless opportunities for the one who stumbles upon an untouched group of fish. Whether in a bed of grass or on familiar rock, there is a long list of factors that’ll play into a successful week.

Lee’s knowledge of the famed northern fishery paid off during the first Qualifying Day as he placed third with 15 bass weighing 53 pounds, 11 ounces. On Monday, he’ll work to make the Top-20 cut to advance to the Knockout Round.

Fans can catch all of the Mille Lacs action on the MLF NOW! live stream on, on the free MLF app, or on
