Thursday, Arrive in Wisconsin
We finally arrived in La Crosse, Wisconsin late this afternoon. There is so much construction in town that it is very scary driving. We found a launch ramp, parked the camper, and took the truck to go research the campgrounds, there are only three in town. Well, the first campground is pretty full and the only sites they have available would not fit us, so that’s one down, two to go. Campground number two is way out of town, when you finally get there after driving not so nice back roads, you arrive to the check in area, no wait, that is a bar, or combination. The Campground is on a huge hillside and we did not even get out of the truck, onto campground number three. Well, this one is not so bad, it is right on the water, and has a boat ramp. We will take this one, but the camper is back in town, we have not eaten, it is 9:45pm, and we are exhausted, hungry, and grumpy. We got the camper, grabbed a burger at McDonalds, and decided to stay at a nearby Wal-Mart for the night, it would be very difficult to maneuver the camper on the roads, and in the campground this late.
