Country singer known for hits such as “Big Love,” “Don’t Take Her, She’s All I Got,” and “Watermelon Crawl”

With millions of adoring fans, numerous top-10 hits and television appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman, CNN Showbiz Today, `Live’ with Regis & Kathie Lee, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien already under his belt, country music legend Tracy Byrd should need little introduction when he steps on stage in front of an expected standing-room-only crowd at this year’s Wal-Mart FLW Championship at Lake Champlain.

Byrd, who already has one double-platinum and three gold albums to his credit, will undoubtedly use the momentum of his latest released “Ten Rounds,” the eighth album of his country music career, to carry him through what promises to be one of the many highlights of the FLW Championship.

However, while Byrd is set to deliver one of the most memorably country performances of the season, he acknowledges that his musical career has undergone a metamorphosis as of late.

“My inspiration in the past came from my heroes — Merle Haggard and Ray Price and
George Jones,” Byrd said. “These days, my inspiration comes from my family more than anything else. They’re kind of my reason for being here, so that alone inspires me every day and keeps me focused.”

“Byrd watchers” can see their favorite country star at a live performance on Friday, Sept. 14 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 25 Consumer Square in Plattsburgh, N.Y. The concert will begin immediately after the conclusion of the day’s Wal-Mart FLW Championship weigh-in – approximately 6:00 p.m. EDT.

The show is free and open to the public.
