Lack of FLW competition makes September’s contest an impossibility
Due to the cancellation of the 2001 Wal-Mart FLW Championship, the last Visa $2 Million Challenge scheduled for 2001 will not take place. Regrettably, without the FLW Tour Championship, the process of matching Visa $2 Million Challenge registrants with participating anglers is not possible.
Visa, Operation Bass and all of the sponsors that made the Visa $2 Million Challenge possible – Alpo, BF Goodrich, Black and Decker, Coleman, Energizer, Land O’ Lakes, Ranger Boats, Timex and Shop Vac – would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to participate in the contest this past year.
Over the course of the 2001 season, the Visa $2 Million Challenge paid out nearly $120,000 in cash and prizes to contestants throughout the nation. Participants who were successfully matched with an angler who finished in the top five of an FLW Tour event were guaranteed one of many lucrative prizes from participating sponsors. Prizes ranged from top-of-the-line marine and camping equipment to hardware, automotive items and cash.
