First and foremost, our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to everyone affected by the senseless tragedies in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. Everyone at Operation Bass wishes Godspeed to the victims and the recovery efforts that are currently underway. Every American can take particular pride in how the nation has rallied in such a time of trial.

Says Operation Bass Chairman Irwin Jacobs, “What amazes me more than anything else during this incredibly tragic time is how the American people, our government and the rest of the free world have come together in supporting each other with a sense of love and compassion, and in offering whatever help is needed to comfort each other and those people especially affected by this terrible tragedy.”

Operation Bass has canceled the Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship. The four Wal-Mart BFL super tournaments originally scheduled for Sept. 15-16 have been re-scheduled for Sept. 22-23. The EverStart Series Central Division tournament scheduled for Fort Gibson Lake, Okla., already delayed once by weather, has been canceled.

“We are managing our business in a manner consistent with our desire to accommodate as many of our anglers and sponsors as possible, while remaining sensitive to the unspeakable human tragedy unfolding around us, said Operation Bass president, Charlie Hoover. ” While at once our thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and their families, it is also our desire, as Americans, to provide unwavering support to our nation’s leaders and our President. To this end, we will move forward with our business, making adjustments as the situation dictates us to do so.”

Like many companies, Operation Bass has made some adjustments in order to continue operations in a sensible manner. Event rescheduling and servicing our anglers and sponsors have been the order of the week, and work continues in that respect. At this point, here are the official developments concerning Operation Bass/Walleye and its events:

· In the Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League, the Arkie, Choo Choo, Illini and Michigan division Super Tournaments originally slated for Sept. 15-16 have been rescheduled for the following weekend, Sept. 22-23. All other BFL Super Tournaments and Regionals will be held as scheduled.
· In the EverStart Series, the Fort Gibson Lake Central Division tournament has been officially canceled. In the Central Division, qualifiers for the Championship in November will be chosen based on the current standings after the first three events.
· The Sept. 26-29 EverStart Northern Division tournament at Lake St. Clair, Mich., will be held as scheduled.
· The Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship has been canceled.
· The Oct. 2-6 Wal-Mart RCL Walleye Circuit Championship in Green Bay, Wis., will be held as scheduled.
· The Oct. 20-21 Wal-Mart Texas Tournament Trail Championship on Toledo Bend will be held as scheduled.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this trying period. Operation Bass will continue to announce further developments and scheduling changes as they are decided.

God Bless America.
