Lake Monroe will be reopened for tournament fishing by month’s end
Although the Indiana Department of Natural Resources has temporarily prohibited any bass-fishing tournaments from taking place on Lake Monroe due to extremely high-water conditions, state officials have confirmed that the BFL Hoosier Division event scheduled for June 29 in Bloomington, Ind., will be permitted to take place as planned.
“The Indiana DNR had closed Lake Monroe to all fishing tournaments, but state officials have told us that the lake will be reopened by June 29,” said Dave Washburn, director of communications for FLW Outdoors. “As a result, the Wal-Mart BFL Hoosier Division tournament will proceed as scheduled.”
