FLW Outdoors has announced that registration for the upcoming 2004 FLW Tour season will be open to the general public beginning Sept. 26. However, priority registration – designated for the top 100 FLW Tour pros and top 50 co-anglers from the 2003 season standings – is scheduled to begin Sept. 8. The total tournament purse for the 2004 FLW Tour season has also increased by $ 1.04 million, bringing the total prize money for next season to a record $6.8 million.

Specific registration rules regarding the 2004 FLW Tour are as follows:

* Sept. 8 – For anglers who qualify for entry through the 2003 EverStart Series – the top 15 anglers in the year-end standings in the Eastern and Central divisions as well as the top 10 anglers in the Western Division – registration begins Sept. 8 at 8 a.m. Central time and will continue through Sept. 29. Northern Division anglers will have a later registration date.

* Sept. 17 – The top 100 pros and the top 50 co-anglers from the 2003 season and anglers who qualify through the Wal-Mart BFL circuit (2003 pro and co-angler champions) must have their deposits for all six regular-season FLW tournaments paid by Sept. 17 in order to maintain their entry priority. However, registration for this group opens Sept. 8 at 8 a.m. Central Time.

* Sept. 18 – For Ranger boat owners, nontransferable, nonrefundable deposits will be accepted to hold pro and co-angler spots for tournaments beginning 8 a.m. Central Time, Sept. 18, 2003.

* Sept. 23 – For Champion and Stratos boat owners, nontransferable, nonrefundable deposits will be accepted to hold pro and co-angler spots for tournaments beginning 8 a.m. Central Time, Sept. 23, 2003.

* Sept. 26 – For all other entries, nontransferable, nonrefundable deposits will be accepted to hold spots for tournaments beginning 8 a.m. Central Time, Sept. 26, 2003.

* Sept. 30 – Anglers who enter all six qualifying tournaments by Sept. 30 will be given priority over anglers who enter less than six tournaments.

Noteworthy registration and participation guidelines

* Deposits for the 2004 FLW Tour season may be made by mail, phone, fax, or on the Internet; walk-in entries will not be accepted. Each qualifying tournament will be limited to 400 contestants (200 boats maximum).

* Tournament fees for the upcoming 2004 season will vary by tournament. For the two $500,000 regular-season qualifying events (Old Hickory Lake and Lake Okeechobee), pro entry fees will remain at $1,800 for the Pro Division and $400 for the Co-angler Division. Tournament deposits for each of these two regular-season events are $500 for pros and $100 for co-anglers.

* For the two $900,000 qualifying events (Atchafalaya Basin and Kentucky Lake), pro entry fees will be $2,500 while co-angler entry fees will be $550. Tournament deposits for each of these two regular-season events are $500 for pros and $100 for co-anglers.

* Entry fees for the two $1.25 million open events (the Wal-Mart Open at Beaver Lake and the Forrest Wood Open at Lake Champlain) will be $3,000 for pros and $650 for co-anglers. Tournament deposits for each of these two open events are $750 for pros and $150 for co-anglers.

* The $1.5 million 2004 FLW Championship, slated for Logan Martin Lake from Sept. 8-11, will be an entry-fee free event.

* Participation is open only to members of FLW Outdoors who are 16 years of age or older. Any person entering a tournament under the age of majority must also have the signature of their parent or legal guardian in the provided space on the entry form.
