FLW Outdoors officials want anglers fishing in the Sept. 8-10 Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League Finals to be aware of certain rules, some of which are specific to this season-closing event being held on the Mississippi River in Winona, Minn. Those rules are listed below as well as additional information about the tournament and important links to even more event-specific details.
Tournament waters:
• Pools 5A, 6 and 7
Off limits:
• Marked area of Levee Park frontage and our standard FLW Outdoors off-limits as established in Rule No. 11 (link to official rules provided at bottom of article).
Pretournament practice:
• As specified in Rule No. 3 (link to official rules provided at bottom of article) and there shall be no hiring of guides or purchasing of information after midnight Aug. 31, 2005
Other key rules:
• * Each boat (pro and co-angler combined) may posses eight walleyes and weigh in five fish per day under the no cull rules
• * Each fish must measure at least 15 inches
• Weighing in fish that measure less than 15 inches will result in a 1-pound penalty for each short fish
• Only walleye, sauger and saugeye may be weighed Live bait may be used
• No more than two fishing rods per angler may be used at a time
• Pros and co-anglers fish together for the maximum combined weight during each day of competition. Each angler carries over the combined weight from each day into the next day to establish a ranking within each division. Weights will be carried over into the final round
• Fish must be kept alive. Anglers are assessed an 8-ounce penalty for each fish brought to the weigh-in not releasable
• Anglers who are late for the official check-in are assessed a 1-pound-per-minute penalty

– 7 a.m. – takeoff at Levee Park
– 3 p.m. – weigh-in at Levee Park
• Friday, Sept. 9:
– 7 a.m. – takeoff at Levee Park
– 3 p.m. – weigh-in at Levee Park (Field cut to top 15 pros and top 15 co-anglers)
• Saturday, Sept. 10:
– 7 a.m. – takeoff at Levee Park
– 4 p.m. – final weigh-in at Wal-Mart (Check and trophy presentations immediately follow weigh-in)
