The conundrum: You’re a walleye-fishing enthusiast who doesn’t want to miss a minute of the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour Championship – the world’s most lucrative walleye tournament – but you won’t be in the Quad Cities this week to watch as the drama unfolds. The solution: Get online for daily, up-to-the-second weigh-in results as well as stats about your favorite anglers through FLWOutdoors.com’s FLW Live application.
Thanks to some innovative technology, walleye-fishing fans will be able to get “real-time” weigh-in results from the Sept. 28-Oct. 1 FLW Walleye Tour Championship on the Mississippi River near Moline, Ill. What does that mean exactly? In a continuing effort to bring the sights and sounds of a live weigh-in directly to fans who cannot attend the event in person, FLW Live will offer FLWOutdoors.com visitors a live streaming video feed and real-time audio play-by-play in an effort to bring the live weigh-in format right to your computer screen.
But that’s not the only highlight of the live weigh-in window.
At any moment during the championship weigh-ins, fans can search for their favorite anglers and get each day’s specific results. Throughout the weigh-in, FLWOutdoors.com visitors will receive detailed information (including angler photos) specifically related to each tournament-day weigh-in, including up-to-the-second results, current and previous days’ standings, and links to anglers’ bio pages. The pro and co-angler leaderboards will be constantly updated on FLW Live to bring fans all the latest action. Fans will also receive live streaming video and audio feeds directly from the weigh-in so everyone can stay on top of the action.
FLW Live will commence each day – Wednesday through Saturday – at approximately 5 p.m. Central Time.
To locate FLW Live, simply go to the FLW Outdoors home page and click on the FLW Live link, located in the left-hand navigation bar, or use this link to launch the application. The start page will appear. Follow the directions to activate FLW Live.
The FLW Outdoors Live page is currently accessible, but the actual application will be activated shortly before each tournament weigh-in begins. Check the FLW Live schedule on the start page for specific weigh-in times each day.
Requirements
To run FLW Live on your computer, you will need Flash Player 7 and Windows Media Player 9. You can download both for free on the FLW Live homepage by clicking on the buttons to the right. A high-speed connection is recommended for the live video stream.
