TIERRA VERDE, Fla. – Thursday’s three-hour fog delay took its toll on the day-one standings of the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series Eastern event. Out of 144 teams competing, only 64 weighed fish.

This morning most anglers were pleased to see that fog would not be a factor Friday. Catch rates should improve as teams will have more time to fish.

Also aiding the anglers will be the tide and wind. Yesterday, many anglers reported missing the early-morning low-tide window on their best spots. Today they’ll be able to get to their low-water places on time, and what’s more, a stiff breeze from the northeast should keep the incoming tide from coming in so fast, thereby extending the low-water period a bit.

The day-two weigh-in will begin at 3 p.m. Eastern at the Tierra Verde Resort and Marina.
