Minnesota Twins legendary centerfielder Kirby Puckett passed away Monday at the premature age of 45. While much of baseball nationwide and sports fans across the Upper Midwest mourn his loss and pay him tribute, we’d like to pay homage to another, lesser-known side of Kirby: that of an avid angler.
FLWOutdoors.com first ran this story in December 2000, just months before Puckett was inducted into Cooperstown as a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer. By that point, Kirby was already much missed on the baseball diamond.
Now, he’ll be missed even more on the water, as well.
