ROCKPORT, Texas – The final round of the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series is under way at Texas’ Coastal Bend, and if Tommy Ramzinsky and Todd Adams have anything to say about it, we’ll see a very familiar conclusion at the end of this one.

In four of the last five days of Redfish Series competition that they’ve fished, Ramzinsky and Adams have led at the end of the day. That goes back to last October’s series championship at Orange Beach, Ala., which they ultimately won.

Fishing their home waters this week and carrying a 3 1/2-pound lead into Saturday’s top-five finals, it would be a surprise if the red-hot team didn’t extend that streak to five days atop the leaderboard.

“Our goal the first day was just to make the top five,” Adams said. “We’ve accomplished that goal, so obviously now we’re going to try and win this thing.”

Tommy Ramzinsky and Todd Adams, leaders by 3 1/2 pounds, are poised to take their second FLW Redfish Series title in as many tournaments. At a glance, that shouldn’t be too difficult for the local anglers. A 20- to 28-inch slot limit on redfish combined with a two-fish limit means that making up 3 1/2 pounds or more on the leaders is a pretty tall order for the other four teams. Plus, Ramzinsky and Adams proved the first two days that the fish they’re catching up near San Antonio Bay are about as broad-shouldered as they come within that slot limit.

“We’re just going to camp out on those fish and catch as many as we can,” Ramzinsky said. “The area is pretty nasty and muddy, so there hasn’t been that much boat traffic. But you never know what will happen on a Saturday during spring break.”

The top five teams are fishing for a guaranteed $25,000 winner’s check, plus potential contingency bonuses from Ranger, Champion, Wellcraft, Hydra-Sports and Yamaha.

Saturday’s final weigh-in will be held at the Wal-Mart store located at 2401 Highway 35 North in Rockport starting at 4 p.m. Central time.
