RED WING, Minn. – As another beautiful day of walleye fishing awaits, those that covet a serious run at a Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour title better be ready to adjust. The females are on the move; one day they’re here, and the next day they’re gone. As impressive as some of the top weights were yesterday, those who can catch steady bags each day will be in contention on day four.

When Jeff Ryan sacked 26 pounds, 5 ounces on day one on the Vermillion River last year, few believed he could duplicate that performance. Although it’s different water, this year’s pro leader, Jason Przekurat, is in a similar situation.

Pro Jarrad Fluekiger had a solid opening day on the Mississippi River. The Alma, Wis., native figures to be one to watch on day two.Although he had seven fish in the box by 9 a.m. Wednesday, Przekurat said the bite was sporadic. His area is small, and the fish will have to replenish if the Stevens Point, Wis., pro is going to contend for win No. 1.

Day two is crucial for many competitors. Simply put, it’s easier to talk about consistency on an ever-changing river system than it is to execute it.

The day-two weigh-in begins today at 3 p.m. Central time, when the full field of 150 boats returns to Bay Point Marina in Red Wing. For those that can’t make the weigh-in in person, check out FLW Live for real-time results on your favorite professional walleye anglers.
