Whether you’ve been following the FLW Outdoors Fantasy Fishing Challenge with steadfast attention since it first began or your interest in the game is just now being piqued, time is running out to get in on the next contest. Both newcomers and veterans alike have an equal shot at winning great prizes – including a guaranteed $5,000 cash for the highest score – in the wake of the upcoming Beaver Lake showdown.

If you have already registered for the Fishing Challenge – a fantasy-sports contest tied to the Wal-Mart FLW Tour pro bass-fishing circuit – you know how it works. Anyone who has yet to register, don’t fret; it’s not difficult to get set up for fantasy-fishing action.

Online registration is quick and easy. Just take a few moments to enter the necessary information, and then have fun assembling your pro angler roster in time for the FLW Tour’s Wal-Mart Open on Beaver Lake, which begins Thursday near Rogers, Ark.

Simply choose the five pros fishing the tour who you believe will place highest in the tournament. If the five pro anglers you chose amass the most cumulative points among Fishing Challenge players, you will win $5,000 cash. Additionally, by playing the FLW Outdoors Fantasy Fishing Challenge, you compete against other players for your chance to net an all-expense-paid trip for two to the 2007 Forrest Wood Cup.

Your “pro team” will compete against the teams assembled by other players participating in the Fishing Challenge. There are many prize packages, in addition to the guaranteed $5,000 first prize, that can be won by contestants whose “pro teams” earn enough points. Prize packages are awarded to the top 25 contestants for each tournament.

The Beaver Lake tournament is slated for May 17-20. Online entry for this Fishing Challenge contest must be completed by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time May 16. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. The FLW Outdoors Fantasy Fishing Challenge is offered only in the United States and is open only to legal U.S. residents who are 21 years of age or older. See official rules.
