PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – This morning as day two of the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series got underway, several teams were inquiring about the top-5 weight cut from day one of the event.

When they were told it was 14 pounds, 1 ounce, some were shocked at how stout the weights were despite such windy conditions yesterday.

Indeed, the Panama City Beach venue has surprised some in terms of its productivity.

Anglers will have to endure higher gusts of wind today as the predicted wind is forecast has been increased to 15 to 25 mph out of the SSE. But more wind should do little to change anglers’ game plans or hamper the overall bite.

Fortunately the Intracoastal Waterway offers redfish anglers Kevin Shaw and Tadd Vandemark prepare for a long run down the Intracoastal Waterway on day twoprotection from rough waters for many making long runs to the east and west.

A ruffled water surface may limit sight-fishing to a certain extent, but most of the top teams have reported being around so many fish that just blind-casting into areas where the schools are located usually produces bites.

Several anglers now believe the top-5 weight cut after day two will be at about 27 pounds.

Friday’s weigh-in will be held at Bay Point Marina located at 3824 Hatteras Lane in Panama City Beach.

Saturday’s weigh-in will be held at the Wal-Mart located at 10270 Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach beginning at 4 p.m.
