Thanks to a technological mix of smartphones, cell signals, texting, the Internet and fast bass boats, FLWOutdoors.com will now bring fishing fans on-the-water coverage of FLW Tour events via real-time blogs from the water. The real-time blogs are part of a continuing effort to bring fishing fans the most comprehensive, up-to-date information available.
Starting at the Kentucky Lake FLW Tour event this week, FLW Outdoors will introduce a new “live-page” that will be constantly updated as new reports come in from the front lines of the tournament action.
During all four tournament days of the FLW Tour event, FLW reporters will be on the water checking in with different pros, providing updates of their estimated catches and fishing techniques while relaying that information directly to FLWOutdoors.com for fishing fans to follow via computer or mobile device.
Real-time coverage will begin at takeoff every morning, follow pros throughout the tournament day and then offer interesting notes and quotes from the weigh-in.
During the first two days of competition, FLW reporters will follow a handful of pretournament favorites, according to the Fantasy Trend, which tracks the most popular angler selections on FantasyFishing.com. But as the action unfolds and the field is whittled down to the top 10 on days three and four, more time will be given to the tournament leaders with reports on their estimated weights, fishing techniques and the small, often untold victories or defeats that happen between man and fish.
Whether you are a Fantasy Fishing fanatic, a tournament angler or perhaps a little bit of both, the FLWOutdoors.com live-page will provide a new way to keep up with what’s going on out on the water at all times. Think of it as a kind of play-by-play commentary from the water that can be received nearly anywhere at anytime.
Look for the new FLW Outdoors live-page beginning Thursday morning. To get to the live-page, simply go to FLWOutdoors.com, click on the `bass’ toolbar and then click the “live-page” banner at the top of the page. This new feature is being provided in addition to FLW Live, an online application that brings fans real-time weigh-in results, streaming video and audio. Or you can follow the on-the-water action via Twitter at twitter.com/FLW_WebGuys and twitter.com/FLW_Magazine.
