MINNEAPOLIS – The latest version of FLWOutdoors.com has finally arrived. Officially launched on July 21 and nearly a year in the making, FLWOutdoors.com clearly has a distinct new look and feel. However, while FLWOutdoors.com now boasts a host of aesthetic changes, readers will quickly notice a wide variety of improvements to content offerings and navigation as well.
For starters, the redesigned FLWOutdoors.com homepage has undergone a tremendous facelift. In addition to some changes designed to streamline the navigation process, the homepage offers a wide variety of new content containers. In the “What’s Next” section, readers will be able to view all of the upcoming events associated with FLW Outdoors tournaments – including information about FLW Outdoors television air times on Versus, detailed information on pending angler appearances as well access to a comprehensive calendar highlighting all upcoming FLW Outdoors-related events. An expanded tournament results section, easy access to the online community pages and social networking sites, featured blogs and highlights of the current issue of FLW Outdoors Magazine are also prominently displayed on the homepage. Reader submissions to our weekly “Catch of the Week” section and a new-and-improved video section are now featured on the homepage as well.
FLWOutdoors.com has greatly expanded the FLW Magazine area of the website. In addition to getting all of the great feature content of the FLW Outdoors Magazine online, readers will now find a wide variety of new offerings submitted by our magazine editors including new gear/tackle/equipment reviews, blog postings, weekly tips from the pros, industry news as well as compelling and informative “how-to” videos.
A new fishing Resources section also has been added to the website. Going forward, readers will be able to access updated Fishing Reports by location, a Fishing Glossary section, basic tips in our Fishing 101 section, videos featuring tips from the pros, updated Solunar Tables charts and complete access to our 50-state online fishing license section, which puts users one click away from being able to purchase fishing licenses anywhere in the U.S.
As always, FLWOutdoors.com boasts comprehensive news, photos, results, details and videos from each of our competitive bass and walleye tournament trails including up-to-date information on the FLW Tour, FLW Series, American Fishing Series, Bass Fishing League, Walleye Tour and The Bass Federation. Angler profiles, tournament registration, tournament trail overviews, a calendar of events and an improved “Tournament Locator” section are easily accessible with the new format as well.
Another significant addition can be found on the Articles homepage. There, readers will be able to get a fantastic overview of all of the editorial content featured throughout the various web pages on FLWOutdoors.com. The Articles homepage will offer readers streamlined navigation when searching for archived content, back issues of FLW Outdoors Magazine, older tournament news and/or features dating back decades. Easy access to columns such as “The Business of Fishing,” “Co-angler Clinic,” and “Performance Psychology,” are also available. An archived “Tips and Techniques” section, transcripts to our entire inventory of FLW Live Chats with pro anglers and comprehensive blog postings from the entire FLW Outdoors staff are also available.
A completely revamped video page affords readers access to the growing video library on FLWOutdoors.com. Larger video screens and a comprehensive database of archived videos are now on display. If you can’t make it to the weigh-in in person, readers can still access FLW Live – a real-time video feed from our all of our major tournaments and events – from this page as well. The Video homepage also will feature regularly scheduled Podcasts – which highlight audio interviews from some of the nations’ top pros.
Navigation in our Community section also has been improved. Now readers will be able to navigate Facebook and Twitter applications with relative easy as well as continue to connect with friends and family in the Community section. Forums, message boards and a “Buddy Locator” are also featured.
In addition to new-and-improved photography interfaces, an updated FLW Store page and a new hunting and Outdoors section, FLWOutdoors.com is also planning a host of additional features and content in the near future.
While the improvements to FLWOutdoors.com are undoubtedly significant, there are many more to come as FLW Outdoors is firmly committed to making the changes necessary to meet the needs of our readers, fans and tournament anglers alike.
