Fresh off an appearance on the “Conan” show and fueled by a No. 1 single on the Billboard Country Songs chart, Thompson Square will come in hot to warm up the crowd prior to the final Walmart FLW Tour weigh-in April 17 in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The FLW Tour will stage its fourth tournament of the season April 14-17 on Lake Chickamauga, culminating in a two-day FLW Outdoors Expo at the Chattanooga Convention Center. The professional bass-fishing extravaganza will end with an exciting two-fold finale: Thompson Square’s performance at 3 p.m. and the final tournament weigh-in to follow at 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Thompson Square, comprising the husband-and-wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson, first broke into the country charts last summer with a couple of early singles, but with the 2011 release of their eponymous debut album, they have stormed the country castle. At press time, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” was still firmly positioned atop the Billboard Country Songs chart, and the couple was in the midst of a successful national tour in support of the album “Thompson Square” with a full band in tow.

Between a televised weigh-in pitting bass fishing’s best pros against one another in a title quest and a musical act with such momentum behind it, you can bet people will venture to the Chattanooga Convention Center en masse April 17, so get there early.
