Bass Championship Will Stay At Carlyle Lake

The Illinois High School Association Board of Directors approved the continuation of Carlyle Lake as the site of the state’s high school bass fishing championship. Carlyle Lake, which is south of Vandalia, hosted the first sanctioned high school bass fishing championship in 2009, and the new extension means the lake will serve as the title venue through 2016.
Illinois is also the first state to sanction bass fishing as a high school sport.
