Florida Seeks Advice on Bass Management

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is soliciting public input as it develops a long-term Black Bass Management Plan. The FWC has drafted an initial plan, and wants anglers to review it and offer alternatives or make other observations.

Last spring, FWC staff asked for public input to identify issues and possible solutions to incorporate into the first draft of the management plan. Nearly 5,000 people completed the first survey or spoke with FWC biologists. However, none of the proposed actions are final. Public input will assist in the addition, deletion or refinement of management actions for the next several decades.
