CALIFORNIA ANGLER WINS WESTERN DIVISION TOURNAMENT ON CAL DELTA

Thomas fished a Berkley Powerbait on a 1/2 ounce jig near Frank’s Track to catch his fish. He was flipping shallow water areas to land the winning sack of bass. Second place and $1000 went to Chris Costello of Gilroy, California, for his five bass limit that weighed 23 pounds. Costello was sight fishing bedding bass in the Back Creek area to land his fish. He used a soft plastic fluke in a dark brown shad color.

Rounding out the top positions were: (3) Ron Moore, Fairfield, CA, five bass, 22-12, $587; (4) David Gliebe, Stockton, CA, five bass, 22-8, $376; (5) James Soden, Oakley, CA, five bass, 20-12, $356; (6) Bruce Harris, Oakdale, CA, five bass, 20-2, $317; (7) Rick Kendrick, Sacramento, CA, fnto, CA, five bass, 19-3, $277; (8) Nicolas Sakata, Manteca, CA, five bass, 18-13, $238; (9) Patrick Kawaguchi, San Jose, CA, five bass, 18-9, $198; (10) Dean Hendricks, Jr., Stockton, CA, five bass, 18-7, $164.50.

Chris Costello of Gilroy, CA, won the Abu Garcia Big Bass Award of $1,000 for a 12 pound, 14 ounce bass.

Chris Costello of Gilroy, CA, is leading the Western Division Ranger Millennium big bass race with a 12 pound, 14 ounce bass.
