Mitko fished a Berkley Power Claw, pitching to lilly pads in South Kissimmee to catch is winning weight. Second place and $2161 went to Frank Woodley of Kissimmee, Florida, for five bass weighing 13 pounds, 4 ounces. Woodley used a Gambler glitter worm in open water for his fish.

Rounding out the top positions were: (3) William Metcalf, W Palm Bch, FL, five bass, 13-2, $1268; (4) John Huls, Lakeland, FL, four bass, 12-12, $813; (5) John Sobick, Deltona, FL, five bass, 11-15, $770; (6) David Hayden, Grove City, FL, five bass, 11-7, $686; (7) Jay Morgan, Lake Wales, FL,, City, FL, five bass, 11-7, $686; (7) Jay Morgan, Lake Wales, FL, three bass, 11-4, $599; (8) Darlene Ozark, Vero Bch, FL, four bass, 10-14, $ 514; (9) Larry Payne, Ft. Myers, FL, five bass, 10-11, $428; (10) John Smalley, Cocoa, FL, five bass, 10-10, $354.

Ray Tester of Satellite Bch, Florida, won the Abu Garcia Big Bass Award of $1,000 for a 8 pound, 5 ounce bass.

Tester’s bass is leading the Gator Division Ranger Millennium big bass race for the year.
