LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – In light of Tuesday’s tragic terrorist attacks on the United States and out of respect for the victims, the Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Super Tournament scheduled to start Saturday on the Arkansas River has been postponed. The two-day tournament will be rescheduled.

When the event is rescheduled, up to 400 bass anglers will compete for a top award of up to $12,000 cash.

The BFL is divided into 22 divisions covering the United States. Each division features five weekend tournaments through which anglers may qualify for one of seven regional tournaments and ultimately the All-American bass fishing championship. With an estimated purse of $345,000, the BFL All-American ranks as one of the top post-season tournaments in competitive fishing. Overall, awards for the 2001 BFL season could reach $5.7 million based on full fields at each tournament.

Anglers with questions concerning the event should contact Operation Bass at (270) 362-4880.
