DALLAS – On this Sunday’s edition of “FLW Outdoors Presented by Wal-Mart,” hosts Keith Lebowitz and Tony Casillas will talk with Jay Powell, relief pitcher for the Texas Rangers, and catch up with Wal-Mart FLW Tour pro Kevin Vida of Clare, Mich. The crew will also get its weekly Texas fishing update from the show’s intern Rush Holson.
In 2002, Powell posted a 3.44 ERA, good enough for second-best on the Rangers pitching staff despite missing the first 10 weeks of the season due to an injury. He will update listeners about the 2003 baseball season and his team’s record so far this year. Vida, a Banana Boat pro with almost $100,000 in career earnings, will highlight the upcoming Forrest Wood Open, the final Wal-Mart FLW Tour regular-season event that will take place June 18-21 on Alabama’s Wheeler Lake. With a $1 million purse, it is one of two million-dollar-plus events that lead up to the $1.5 million championship scheduled for Sept. 10-13 on the James River in Richmond, Va.
