Steamboat Park, located at the intersection of Poplar Avenue and Missouri Avenue in Pierre, S.D., will be the setting for the upcoming “On the Water” demo slated for Saturday, June 19th. The event kicks off with the Children’s Fishing Clinic at 9 a.m. During the clinic, children will have the opportunity to visit firsthand with several Evinrude and Ranger professional anglers. Anglers will demonstrate different fishing techniques and discuss which type of lures and baits they used on Lake Oahe during the course of the RCL Tour event. Parents are encouraged to bring along a camera to take photos of their children with the professional anglers and their NASCAR style boats and motors. Autographs also will be available.
Starting at 10 a.m. and continuing to 1 p.m., participants will have an opportunity to test Ranger boats powered by Evinrude motors on the open water. Children under the age of 16 are required to have a parent with them when test driving a boat. Representatives from both companies will be available to answer questions participants may have in regards to the Evinrude and Ranger products. Participants may register for door prizes until 1 p.m. when the demonstrations will conclude. All prizes will be awarded at the final RCL Tournament weigh-in held at the Wal-Mart store located at 1600 North Harrison in Pierre beginning at 3 p.m.
