MILLEDGEVILLE Ga. – The FLW Bass Fishing League is headed to Lake Sinclair March 6 for the first of five stops in the Bulldog Division. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000, respectively.

“It has been extremely cold, and we have had a lot of rain this winter,” said FLW Tour pro Tom Mann Jr. of Buford, Ga. “The lake will be fairly stained, and water temperatures will probably be below normal, so the fish will be slow. Anglers should use small jigs around docks.

“If there is a warming trend, anglers may be successful using spinnerbaits in the upper arms and creeks. The grassy areas along the back shoreline may produce a lot of fish.”

Mann added that anglers should never overlook the riprap on Lake Sinclair; it is always a good bet this time of year.

Anglers will take off from Little River Park located at 3069 N. Columbia Street in Milledgeville, Ga., at 7:15 a.m. The weigh-in will be held at Little River Park beginning at 4:15 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering even bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
