The world’s best bass anglers will compete to win the Forrest Wood Cup, the world championship of bass fishing, on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Aug. 5-8. The 2010 Forrest Wood Cup champion will be determined by cumulative weight over four days of fishing.
The entire field of 78 pros and 78 co-anglers will compete on Lake Lanier the first two days (Thursday and Friday). For day three (Saturday), the field will be cut to the top 30 pros and 30 co-anglers, with the co-angler champion being crowned at the conclusion of day three. The top six pro anglers will fish day four (Sunday) for the coveted Forrest Wood Cup crown.
Anglers will take off from Laurel Park in Gainesville, Ga., daily at 7 a.m. with the takeoff festivities beginning each day at 6:30 a.m.
The FLW Outdoors Expo will be held Friday, Aug. 6, through Sunday, Aug. 8, at the Gwinnett Convention Center in Duluth, Ga. The expo will operate from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Weigh-ins for the Forrest Wood Cup will be held at 5 p.m. each day at Gwinnett Arena.
