SMYRNA, Tenn. – The Walmart Bass Fishing League is headed to Percy Priest April 2 for the second of five stops in the Music City Division. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will compete for top awards of up to $9,500 and $3,000, respectively.

“Jerkbaits are going to dominate this tournament,” said Walmart FLW Tour pro Craig Powers of Rockwood, Tenn. “The wind will also dictate the bite: The more wind the better the bite. Everyone is going to catch a lot of fish, but the separator is going to be the guys that go out looking for a few quality bites, using jerkbaits or dragging a jig, are going to be the guys that win.

“Guys that just want to go out, catch a lot of fish, have fun and cash a check are going to be using crankbaits and Rat-L-Traps,” Powers went on to say. “It is going to take over 20 pounds to win.”

Takeoffs and weigh-ins will be at Fate Sanders Marina located at 3157 Weakley Lane in Smyrna, Tenn. Takeoff is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. while weigh-in will begin at 2:30 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the EverStart Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
