Boater Steve Sink of Winston-Salem, N.C., caught a five-bass limit weighing 20 pounds, 11 ounces June 25 to win $4,235 plus a $2,000 Ranger Cup bonus in the Walmart BFL North Carolina Division tournament on High Rock Lake. Sink was fishing creeks using jigs and worms to catch his limit.

3rd: Maurice Freeze, Concord, N.C., five bass, 19-8, $1,413 plus $1,000 Evinrude bonus

4th: Eric Rothrock, High Point, N.C., five bass, 19-3, $988

5th: Rodney Sorrell, Stokesdale, N.C., five bass, 18-12, $847

6th: Derek Tolley, Winston-Salem, N.C., five bass, 18-2, $776

7th: David Williams, Maiden, N.C., five bass, 17-5, $ 706

8th: Chris Baldwin, Lexington, N.C., five bass, 16-6, $635

9th: Dustin Clontz, Albemarle, N.C., five bass, 16-0, $565

Botts winning co-angler

Lester Botts of Blountville, Tenn., earned $2,118 as co-angler winner of the June 25 BFL North Carolina event.

Lester Botts of Blountville, Tenn., caught a five-bass limit weighing 12 pounds, 12 ounces June 25 to win $2,118 in the Co-angler Division. Botts was fishing about three miles up the lake using spinnnerbaits to catch his bass.

Coming up

The next and final BFL North Carolina Division tournament is scheduled for Sept. 17-18 on High Rock Lake in Salisbury, N.C. After the fifth North Carolina Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Nov. 3-5 Regional Championship on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, S.C. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
