McCall wins BFL battle on Grand Lake
Hubbard nets co-angler crown during March 8 Okie Division event
GROVE, Okla. – Chris McCall of Brookeland, Texas, weighed four bass totaling 18 pounds, 9 ounces Saturday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Okie Division event on Grand Lake. For his victory, McCall earned $5,604.
McCall said that he was fishing the edge of a creek near Elk River using a Yum umbrella rig and a Santone jig. He was fishing in about 12 feet of water.

Hubbard scores co-angler title
John Hubbard of Broken Arrow, Okla., weighed five bass totaling 10 pounds, 7 ounces Saturday to win the co-angler division. Hubbard earned $2,652 for his victory.

The next BFL Okie Division tournament is scheduled for March 29 on the Arkansas River in Muskogee, Okla. After the last divisional tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 16-18 Regional Championship on Sam Rayburn Reservoir in Jasper, Texas. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 120 tournaments throughout the season, five in each division. The top 40 boaters and co-anglers from each division qualify for a regional tournament and compete to finish in the top six, which then qualifies them for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American presented by Chevy. The 2014 BFL All-American is being held June 5-7 on Wilson Lake in Florence, Ala. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the EverStart Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
