POTTSBORO, Texas – The Rayovac FLW Series is headed to Lake Texoma April 30-May 2 for a tournament presented by Evinrude when as many as 300 pros and co-anglers will take to the water for the third and final stop of 2015 in the Texas Division.

“Lake Texoma has improved as a fishery over the years and is more than capable of producing sizeable fish,” said Keystone Light pro Jeff Sprague of Point, Texas. “This event is going to be a great tournament.

“The biggest five-bass limits will come from a variety of tactics,” continued Sprague. “The bass are in all stages of the spawn, but I predict a lot of anglers will be sight fishing in this event as the majority of fish are still spawning. Boat docks will also be a factor. A lot of fish are seeking shelter, so I think they will be heavily targeted by competitors.

“Yamamoto Senko worms in natural colors, like watermelon or green-pumpkin, are going to play a big role in this tournament. Anglers will also be reaching for Strike King Hack Attack jigs and umbrella rigs. Z-Man Chatterbaits in the murkier water are also popular on Texoma this time of year.”

Sprague predicted a three-day cumulative total weight nearing 60 pounds will be brought to the scale by the winner of this tournament.

“This lake has come a long way in terms of becoming a destination tournament-fishing site,” Sprague said. “I’m excited to see what this lake will produce and what winning techniques play out.”

Anglers will take off from the Highport Marina located at 120 Texoma Harbor Drive in Pottsboro at 6:30 a.m. CDT each day. Weigh-in on days one and two will be held at the marina beginning at 2:30 p.m. On day three, weigh-in will be held at Walmart, located at 401 N. U.S. Highway 75 in Denison, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public. The event is being hosted by the Denison Area Chamber of Commerce.

Pros will fish for a top award of $40,000 plus a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard if Ranger Cup guidelines are met. Co-anglers will cast for a top award consisting of a Ranger Z117 with 90-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and $5,000 if Ranger Cup guidelines are met.

The Rayovac FLW Series consists of five divisions – Central, Northern, Southeast, Texas and Western. Each division consists of three tournaments and competitors will be vying for valuable points in each division that could earn them the opportunity to fish in the Rayovac FLW Series Championship. The 2015 Rayovac FLW Series Championship is being held Oct. 29-31 on the Ohio River in Paducah, Kentucky.
