Competition resumes as fog lifts; warmer temperatures should increase catch weights today

D’IBERVILLE, Miss. – While a blanket of fog again greeted anglers this morning at Indian Point Marina on the Pascagoula River, Wal-Mart FLW Tour opening-round competition resumed after a short delay. Warmer weather burned off much of the dense fog as the 6:30 takeoff time approached, allowing for adequate visibility and day-two action to commence shortly thereafter.

Anglers are expecting catch weights to rise with the temperature today. In addition to higher air temperatures, the water has warmed several degrees as well. The forecast calls for decreasing humidity and increasing sunshine by afternoon. This should make the bass populations more active in the Pascagoula, Biloxi and Tchoutacabouffa river systems.

The day-two weigh-in is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. at the Indian Point Marina located off I-10 in Gautier, Miss. After today, the Pro Division is cut to the top 10 anglers for tomorrow’s semifinal-round action. For the Co-Angler Division, today is the last day to qualify for tomorrow’s top-10 final round.
