Over the years, FLW Live has grown to become a linchpin of FLWOutdoors.com’s online content, providing up-to-the-second results and video footage from tournament weigh-ins. The Web site is upping the ante for the Forrest Wood Cup, bringing fishing fans a wide array of championship content.
“FLW Outdoors” TV personality Jason Harper will kick things off early with a daily morning show, featuring interviews with pro bass anglers and FLW Fantasy Fishing finalists as well as discussions with sponsor representatives and other figures in the fishing industry. Harper will report from Heinz Field, site of the Forrest Wood Cup takeoffs, beginning at 6:30 a.m. EDT each day of the Cup.
Tomorrow’s best bass anglers are competing in Pittsburgh as well for the National Guard TBF Junior World Championship, and FLW Live will focus on the future of the sport with weigh-in coverage. Beginning at 1 p.m. EDT July 31 and Aug. 1, FLW Live will broadcast the weigh-ins from Kittaning Riverfront Park until the moment a young champion is crowned.
With the $2 million Cup kicking off, it means the Walmart FLW Tour’s regular season has ended and the announcement of the $1 million grand-prize winner for the 2009 FLW Fantasy Fishing season is at hand. The fantasy finalists will be in Pittsburgh for the championship festivities, anxiously awaiting the announcement of the guaranteed winner, who will have accumulated the most fantasy points over the course of the six-event season. None of the top five finalists knows which of them will leave Pittsburgh $1 million richer, so to say they will be excited is an understatement. Tune in to FLW Live at 12 p.m. EDT Aug. 1 for interviews with the finalists, and then check back during the tournament weigh-in that day – beginning at 5 p.m. – to learn who will become the biggest winner in all of fantasy sports. Check back at 1 p.m. EDT Aug. 2 for reaction and an in-depth interview with the $1 million winner.
And as always, FLW Live will bring fans complete weigh-in results, video and audio in real time. Weigh-ins will begin at 5 p.m. daily July 30-Aug. 2, with the ultimate Cup champion – and potential $1 million winner – being crowned Sunday, Aug. 2. At approximately 6:15 p.m. EDT Sunday, FLW Live will broadcast a post-tourney press conference with all the winners.
