EverStart anglers greeted with beautiful sunrise, low winds as final day of competition commences on Lake Ontario
CLAYTON, N.Y. – As the EverStart finalists headed out past French Creek Marina shortly after 5:30 a.m., anglers couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather conditions. With a gorgeous sunrise, cool temperatures and a light breeze serving as backdrop for the all-important final round of competition, conditions appeared right for a bountiful day of fishing on Lake Ontario.
Competition will certainly be intense as well. With $15,000 and a new Ranger boat awaiting the champion in the Pro Division and $6,000 in prize money earmarked for top stringer in the Co-Angler Division, anglers undoubtedly will be going for broke, using every available resource at their disposal to turn in the largest limit possible.
Although the second Northern Division event of 2001 of kicked off with more than 290 anglers from 29 states and two countries, only the top 10 remain in each division to battle for the top prize.
Championship weigh for both pros and co-anglers will take place at 4 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located on Arsenal Street in Watertown, N.Y.
