EverStart anglers vie for tournament title on Kentucky Lake

GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. – EverStart anglers were greeted with cool temperatures and cloudy skies as they departed Moors Resort Marina shortly after 5:45 a.m. in what amounts to the final day of tournament action on Kentucky Lake.

After three days of intense competition, 20 anglers (10 in both the pro and co-angler divisions) are all that remain of the Central Division tournament field that numbered 400 anglers at the start of EverStart action on Wednesday.

To be sure, there is plenty at stake. With up to $61,000 in cash and prizes (including a new fully equipped Ranger Comanche boat) available to the eventual winner of the Pro Division and another $30,000 set aside for the co-angler champion (assuming various contingency awards are met), the final day of tournament action is expected to be a hard-fought battle.

Making things even more interesting is the fact that all previous weights have been zeroed out before the start of Saturday’s final – meaning that all anglers will have nothing to fall back on except what they are able to catch on the water in today’s competition.

EverStart action concludes at today’s final weigh-in, scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 310 West Fifth Street in Benton, Ky.
