EUFAULA, Ala. – Two hundred pros and two hundred co-anglers are back at it again this morning at the EverStart Series Eastern Division event on Lake Eufaula.

Anglers awoke to pleasant daybreak temperatures near 60 degrees and are looking forward to highs near 80 degrees again today.

Yesterday’s action included three stringers over 20 pounds, but a real testament to the good fishing on Eufaula is the top-20 cut mark. In the Pro Division the cut is 15 pounds, 5 ounces and in the Co-angler Division the cut weight is 9 pounds, 10 ounces – pretty stout for 20th place.

Despite the warming temperatures, the consensus yesterday was that many of the quality fish are still harboring in deeper waters. Most of the top five are fishing depths greater than 6 feet and two pros, Rodger Beaver of Leesburg, Ga., in third, and Derrick Millirons of Seale, Ala., in fifth, are fishing depths greater than 15 feet.

Kim Carver of Milledgeville, Ga., boats a keeper just after takeoff this morning.Predictions are that weights will be even better today. The warming temperatures should help the bite for many. Shortly after takeoff this morning, Kim Carver of Milledgeville, Ga., was already boating a keeper.

The day two weigh-in starts at 3 p.m. CST at Lakepoint Resort Marina.
