The bass will likely be in transition between deep and shallow water when the Western Division lands on Lake Mead April 6-9.
According to pro David Gliebe of Stockton, Calif., fish could be caught using a variety of tactics ranging from drop-shotting around rock structure in 20 feet of water to bed fishing on gravel shorelines as shallow as 3 feet.
Gliebe suggests using shad-pattern plastics such as the Aaron’s Magic for drop-shotting and a smoke-red flake tube lure for bed fishing. He weights his tube with a single BB, which promotes a slow fall.
Gliebe’s call: 14 pounds to make the top 10; 28 pounds to win.
