The top-10 pros and co-anglers fishing the final day of the Costa FLW Series presented by Power-Pole got a bit of a chilly surprise this morning with a frontal passage that dropped nighttime lows into the high 40’s, drawing water temperatures down at least 5 degrees. In addition, a stiff 15 mph north breeze greeted anglers at the Clewiston lock as they departed this morning
On the water reporters following the leaders were hoping to catch some of the early-morning big fish action, but just little males were nibbling. By 11 o’clock Joshua Weaver and Derek Yasinski both had small limits. Brian Holder had a small limit as well. Robert Beatty was working on his fifth keeper and Scott Byrd had just one fish.
The big news of the day, however, comes from Taylor Ashley who has sacked about 20 pounds. If the leaders do not start culling up, FLW Series rookie Ashley could pull off an upset.
