One of my go-to lures for summer is a swimbait. Bass tend to suspend this time of year, and a swimbait is a good choice because you can quickly cover different depths by just changing your retrieve.
My favorite swimbait is a 3 1/2- or 5-inch Yamamoto in pearl color. I’ll rig it on a 3/8-ounce Terminator jighead and cast it with 15-pound-test Sufix Castable 100% fluorocarbon line.
The swimbait is very easy to fish; just cast it over or around any offshore structure and slowly swim it back.
