At some points in the year, bass will move into shallower water or into deeper water on more of a gradual horizontal line. In hot weather, though, they’ll move more vertically, up and down, to stay in the water temperature range that suits them. If you’re cranking in the summer, find and fish the ledges with the steepest, most vertical walls and that have baitfish.
