LONGVIEW, Texas – It was a checkmate for team Knighten Industries as they swept the board with 42 bass weighing 78 pounds, 13 ounces to win Match 3 of the Builders FirstSource Qualifier Presented by Berkley. While the pressure was off the trio of Dean Rojas, Takahiro Omori and Michael Neal by the afternoon, it was a different story for the other two teams.
Less than 2 pounds made the difference in who would advance to the semifinals, with team Sqwincher’s Mark Daniels Jr., Randy Howell and Cliff Crochet making the cut by posting 34 bass weighing 56-10. Edwin Evers, Josh Bertrand and Marty Robinson of team Smokey Mountain Herbal Snuff & Pouches fell just short with their 26 bass weighing 54-11.
