The 200 pros are now confirmed for the Chevy Open on the Detroit River, Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair. Notably, local sticks Joe Balog and Thomas Moleski did not get in the tournament. Had Balog gotten in, he definitely would have been in my picks. I know Rob Newell was eagerly awaiting word that Moleski was accepted, but that news never came. On the other hand, locals like Chris King, David Reault and Mark Modrak did get in.

Now that the roster is solid, I’m tweaking my picks slightly. I’m removing Bryan Thrift and Chip Harrison and replacing them with Bryan Coates and Trevor Jancasz. Thrift was a gamble to say the least. He had a great practice last year but that doesn’t compare to the wealth of knowledge Coates and Jancasz have.

I’ve decided to keep Mark Rose because I feel you’re still going to need a sleeper or two in this tournament. Lots of fantasy players will be picking the same anglers so the winner will need a “kicker” of sorts to differentiate themselves from the masses. For me, that is Rose. Another wise pick might be David Dudley, who just told FLWOutdoors.com via a Reel Chat that he has been waiting for this tournament all year.
