FLW Tour Championship competitor John Crews to be featured

DALLAS – In anticipation of the $1.5 million Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship presented by Castrol taking place Sept. 10-13 on the James River, “FLW Outdoors Presented by Wal-Mart” hosts Keith Lebowitz and Tony Casillas will broadcast live this Sunday from the Richmond-area Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 11400 W. Broad St. The show will feature a guest-packed two hours with in-store appearances by local pro angler John Crews of Jetersville, Va., who is competing in the championship; FLW Outdoors Executive Vice President Charlie Evans; Jerry Wainwright, head coach for the University of Richmond’s men’s basketball team; and DallasCowboys.com writer Nick Eatman, a regular guest who will wrap up the show.

Crews finished 34th in the 2003 FLW Tour points standings to earn his first trip to the Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship, which will boast its biggest top award to date – $500,000 cash. Hosts Lebowitz and Casillas will grill Crews on the best local hot spots to find fish. Evans, who is also a co-host for “FLW Outdoors” on the Outdoor Life Network, will join the radio crew to discuss the championship and the Wal-Mart FLW Tour World Championship of Bass Fishing and Outdoor Show. The outdoor show, which will include more than 140 exhibits offering great buys on everything from crankbaits to bass boats, is scheduled to take place from 1-9 p.m. daily Sept. 10-13. The championship weigh-ins start at 5 p.m. each day. The outdoor show and daily weigh-ins will be held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

Wainwright, who joined the Richmond Spiders as head coach in April 2002, has become a local favorite and is known for his charismatic personality. The avid outdoorsman will talk about Virginia’s great outdoors, share tips on what to do and see in Richmond, and also talk about the Spiders and what they will do to have a winning season this year. Eatman will call in from Dallas, where he will be covering the Cowboys’ home opener against the Atlanta Falcons.

“FLW Outdoors Presented by Wal-Mart” is broadcast throughout Texas and parts of Oklahoma every Sunday from 8-10 a.m. Central time on Fox Sports 1190 AM KFXR in Dallas. Each week listeners can tune in for a live fishing report from Rush Holson. Audio and boards are controlled by Adam Wilmore.
