Kilpatrick claims Eagle Claw Hook Set Award for Beaver bass
Jason Kilpatrick just sealed the deal on a Beaver Lake hat trick: he earned an FLW Tour top-10 finish, a Snickers Big Bass Award and now the Eagle Claw Hook Set Award. Voters at FLWOutdoors.com liked the footage of Kilpatrick reeling in his lunker during the Wal-Mart Open, so the Satsuma, Ala., pro will be awarded a $1,000 Wal-Mart shopping card for his performance.
FLWOutdoors.com’s voting visitors were able to choose from video footage of three pro anglers’ hook sets as filmed by FSN’s camera crews for the “Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors” TV show during the April 13-16 Wal-Mart Open on Beaver Lake. Though Kilpatrick placed eighth at this Arkansas event, compared to the No. 1 and 2 slots occupied by the other two featured Hook Set anglers, online fishing fans declared him the winner. Kilpatrick will receive the shopping card for the award, which, along with the contest, is presented by Eagle Claw.
Kilpatrick’s Hook Set Award footage, which was seen on “Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors” and FLWOutdoors.com, garnered about twice as many votes as either of the other hook sets. First-place Beaver Lake finisher Andre Moore’s hook set edged out second-place finisher Darrel Robertson’s hook set by a handful of votes.
FSN provides FLWOutdoors.com with video footage of three of the best hook sets from each FLW Tour event throughout the season. The hook sets are seen on FSN’s “Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors” program, which airs Sundays at 11 a.m. Eastern, and are then viewable at FLWOutdoors.com. After voting has closed for a given contest, the winner will be announced on television and through this Web site.
