MINNEAPOLIS – Tune in Sunday, March 12, to “FLW Outdoors” on FSN as Charlie Evans and Keith Lebowitz host the second event of the 2006 Wal-Mart FLW Tour season from Lake Murray. The $1.25 million tournament, which was presented by Chevy, awarded the winning bass pro a cash prize of $200,000.

The one-hour show is the first of a two-part series covering the second event of the $7.6 million FLW Tour season. The tournament featured 400 top bass anglers from 37 states, Japan and Canada, with 200 of the world’s best bass pros fishing for a top award of $200,000 cash while 200 co-anglers vied for a top award of $40,000 cash.

The March 12 show presents several mini-features with the 10 pros that made the cutoff after two days of competition. The features include pros Jeremiah Kindy of Benton, Ark., and Tim Carroll of Owasso, Okla.

Jeremiah Kindy ended the opening round in fourth with 39 pounds, 9 ounces.Kindy, a member of the Land O’Lakes pro angling team, has fished the FLW Tour since 2003. During the 2005 season, he placed in the top 10 two times and earned a berth to the Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship on Lake Hamilton. During the opening round on Lake Murray, Kindy caught 10 bass that weighed more than 39 pounds by throwing a flat-sided crankbait on rocky points. Watch as Kindy discusses his approach to cold-weather angling, and his desire to “finally win one of these suckers.”

Tim Carroll of Owasso, Okla., bags up his record-breaking bag of fish.Carroll advanced to the final round using a 3/4-ounce PJ’s football head jig tied to 17-pound-test fluorocarbon. Carroll was working a secondary point that dropped dramatically from 17 feet to 30 feet and then from 30 feet to 40 feet. The point was situated off the main lake and was cluttered with stumps and other structure. While Carroll was ecstatic to have made his first top-10 on the FLW Tour, he is confident he can bring in the fish to win the tournament.

Melinda Mize entered the tournament off the waiting list and finished in fifth place on the co-angler side.FSN also features National Guard co-angler Melinda Mize. In her last tournament before being deployed to serve her country overseas, watch as Mize goes out with a bang and catches a five-bass limit weighing 17 pounds, 7 ounces.

In addition, co-angler Kim Bain, a resident of Alabaster, Ala., participates in this edition of Fishing 101. Bain, who came to the United States from Australia to fish competitively, demonstrates how to rig and throw a shaky-head worm. This finesse technique is perfect for catching finicky cold-front bass.
