GALLATIN, Tenn. – The FLW Bass Fishing League is headed to Old Hickory Lake June 12 for the fourth of five stops in the Music City Division. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will compete for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000, respectively.

“Anglers should stick to their strengths in this tournament,” said FLW Tour pro Adam Wagner of Cookeville, Tenn., who has two wins and three top-10 finishes on Old Hickory Lake. “You can go up the river and fish shallow or stay in the main lake to go deep; there are fish everywhere. I have heard the fishing is really good since the flood.

“If it is a cloudy day, the shallow bite in wood piles is going to be phenomenal. If anglers choose to go deep, drop-shots and crankbaits will work well.”

Takeoff and weigh-in will be at Bulls Creek Access (Flippers Bait & Tackle) located at 200 Odoms Bend Road in Gallatin, Tenn. Takeoff is scheduled for 5:30 a.m., while weigh-in will begin at 2 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The Old Hickory Lake BFL tournament is being hosted by the Sumner County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering even bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
