Anglers jockeying for position during crucial second day of competition

JASPER, Texas – While the mist has stopped falling from the skies, dark clouds are looming for many anglers who failed to produce significant stringers during Wednesday’s competition. With only one day of fishing left before the field is whittled down to the top 30 anglers, competitors will be scrambling today to join the elite group allowed to move on to Friday’s semifinal round.

With overcast skies, high water levels and humid conditions certain to dominate the day’s outlook yet again, anglers could see similar fishing patterns emerge. However, anglers who are lagging behind in the standings may be forced to change their fishing strategies in an effort to make up ground.

Today’s weigh-in is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. at Twin Dykes marina located just off Hwy 255.
